These machines are based on the principle of vacuum dehydration where oil from oil tank is sucked through a vacuum pump and heated in a vacuum chamber to 55 deg centigrade. Functions:

It is to be noted that as boiling point of water in vacuum is below 50 deg c , water in oil becomes steam and is passed through an air cooled cooler and taken out. The dehydrated oil is pumped back to the tank. Since the oil is heated only up-to 55 deg c, there will not be any degradation of oil when compared to conventional of water removal.

Functions:

Based on electrostatic precipitation the oil from oil tank is passed between sets of electrodes and is charged to a high voltage. The contaminants in the oil are attracted to the electrodes and get deposited in the dielectric paper collectors which are placed over and between the electrodes. Like conventional oil filters, the contaminants of even 1 micron and below can be removed over a period of time.
